Dinner with the parents so they could show off the new concrete slab deck they had put in.  Turns out there are lots of rocks in their yard now.  Also, at some point in the last few years, my dad has become one heck of a good cook.

August 27, 2018 - Inventory

When I was hired last year, I was told that I would be in charge of running an inventory every month.  Turns out, today was only the second time in a year that my boss wanted it done.  Can you say hot mess?  Please may I do it monthly?

We worked at a garage sale to raise money for one of our favorite charity groups, we attended TWO gymnastics meetings (I have no money now...for anything) and we went to a party.  It was a good day.

August 23, 2018 - Kickball

My cousin posted her daughter's kickball schedule on Facebook and it just so happened that we were able to go to tonight's game.  It was all fun and games until they lost and it turned out we knew the coach and two players on the other team because they used to do gymnastics with Riley.  For some reason, that really annoyed my apparently hyper competitive cousin.  BUT....until then, we all had fun.

One of my co-workers said that my unicorn was laying very suggestively and had a sexy look on her face.  Uhm?

Someone has been working on clear hips on the bars and now she has very sore hips.

August 21, 2018

One day a week, I am in the office at work instead of in the store which is in the hospital.  I use that day to get paperwork done or do research.  Sometimes, if orders come in, I am in charge of putting that stuff away.  So today, an order came in.  But it was on the hospital docks instead of where it was supposed to be delivered.  So we had to get little carts and go find the docks by wandering through the hospital basement corridors. 

Those are the same corridors that I had to take to get to the hospital from Uni when I had Riley.  So that part was a bit of a walk through memory lane.

August 18, 2018 - Camp

Rick went to Chicago for the Pearl Jam concert, I went to work for an outreach program and Riley had work and a gymnastics clinic.  That makes for an exciting day.   After gymnastics, Riley and friend went to see Christopher Robin AND she had to finish a confirmation project.

There are no pictures of this (well, there's one but I'm not sharing).  Tonight I had my first gymnastics private.  No, I did no flips or cartwheels.  I was being taught how to spot Riley on some of her new skills.  She only hit me in the face twice and I only dropped her 17 times.

August 16, 2018 - The Fair

Riley has been practicing a couple of clown band songs in preparation for the day when she could play some of them with the group.  Well, tonight was the night.  Rick was playing first trumpet so he was "in charge" but boy, did it take some convincing to get Riley out there.  Once she played, though, she was hooked.

August 15, 2018 - Rainy

I was waiting for Rick to pick me up this evening when a very angry lady brought a security guard out and complained about all of the people parking in the drive at the hospital.  She was trying to get her wheelchair bound son loaded into the car but couldn't get her car into the drive because of the idiotic way people had parked and left their cars.  They were calling tow trucks when I left.  Check out the middle car and where it is parked.

We went to the fair...again.  It rained...a lot.  But Rick got to play his new trumpet.

August 14, 2018 - Melting

I had to do an outreach event today at work.  It was so very hot.  I'm pretty sure I was melting.

August 13, 2018 - It's my birthday!

I had a lovely birthday!  My friend B brought me a cupcake at work.  The clowns played/sang for me at the fair.  And Rick took me out for Mexican food.  Riley met us there when she got done with gymnastics.  And...we had watermelon for dessert.

August 11, 2018 - Picnicing

Once upon a time, we had a quiet day at home.  But that was not today.  Our day started out with a trip to the cupcake store to pick up my FREE birthday bundtlet.  We also purchased one to share with friends and we got to try samples!

From there, we were off to try on confirmation dresses.  Still no luck on that front.  Then we went to a dance marathon picnic and hung out with our friends from Purdue and IUPUI.

In this picture, the kids are recording a birthday video for Zendaya.

After that, we were off to the Cathedral downtown to fulfill one of Riley's summer confirmation projects.

And finally, to a friends' house for a picnic!  This is her puppy Wrigley.  He was also very wriggly.

August 10, 2018 - Pizza

Riley's new schedule includes a couple of hours of gym time on Friday night.  We currently have it set that her grandparents' take her and I pick her up so that we all have a little family time and I get a little coaching experience as well.  It worked out this week that we met up with G and G for pizza afterwards since Rick was at the fair.  We are blessed to have them as a part of our support and family.
