June 28, 2020

We went to mass this morning because one of the kids in my high school class was getting baptized into the church.  We were so happy to see many of the kids from our class and Riley was thrilled to see her classmates.

My mom and dad's garden.  Dad was cracking up about his cabbages.  One is too little, one is too big and one is just right.  Well, he probably likes the big one the best.

That cucumber plant is trying to get grandma.

So my friend Becky at work has been sending us gifts each month since we went on quarantine.  We decided to all send her gifts.  Mine, from Amazon, did not get there and got lost in transition.  So I just went to the store and bought her gifts.  This is a bacon covered caramel.  Weird but yummy because of course I got one for myself.

Riley is showing off the garden.  That's our biggest tomato plant.  It's a green heirloom, I think.

That corn is definitely taller than knee high and it's not quite the fourth of July.

That is ONE giant zucchini.

Prepping to say goodbye!

Seven and a half hours to get home

We got home to some cucumbers and peas in the garden

And I made some zucchini out of what was in the garden.

We played the Game of Life.
At this point, our cars were all lined up about halfway through the game.

Blanche is literally right off the deck at this point.

The girls were working together to do the dishes.

Lots of stuff going on today.  This is Blanche.  She is not afraid of Riley and got about five feet away from her to eat her corn.  She's easy to recognize because she's so skinny and she has that dark mask on her face.  We think she has a twin sister who we named Dorothy who looks very similar but is a little more weight to her.  They had two fawns with them plus two more deer tonight.

The girls went tubing and suddenly, they look like college freshmen instead of toddlers.

You can't tell but it is POURING down rain.

This is what happens when you sit outside with deer.  Yikes.  We had to get her some cortisone.

We had what you might call "a deer encounter" today.  M went out and sprinkled some deer corn out by the camera hoping to see some deer on the trail cam.  Instead, her corn milkshake brought all the deer to the yard.  There were maybe 7 at once that came out to play and get some food.

Playing head's up.  I eventually went to bed and they were all out in the living room humming.
