December 21, 2018

We rolled into Chicago last night just in time to meet Rick for Giordano's pizza.  That made it possible for us to sleep in a bit this morning, have breakfast then catch the train over to the Symphony Hall for Handel's Messiah.  It was beautiful!  Dinner was at a new burger place called Good Stuff.  I had a fried green tomato with my burger and stupidly paid $3.50 for it.  And it was flavorless.

Not exactly sure what my co-worker is doing with her foot or how she's doing it.

Isn't this lady adorable?

Nice job Riley.  We aren't sure if it's just for her grade or her learning community or what...but still proud of her.

This was Riley after work, studying for her Spanish final.  She was working on memorizing the body parts while singing a silly song in Spanish.

December 16, 2018

Another super early day for gymnastics that included a hotel, breakfast, getting hair done and giants.  We saw lots of Gold at Notre Dame including the dome, some helmets and oh yeah, Riley's BARS medal.  She also got silver on Vault but we won't talk about floor or beam.  We can put the season behind us now because she qualified for the state championship in March and until then, she can concentrate on high school gymnastics.  It seemed fitting that we were able to "fit in" a trip to the Grotto at Notre Dame right before Christmas.

The day started out with a meeting to help plan the future of a non-profit whose board I am on.  We had a beautiful view of the city for our meeting.

Eventually I picked up Riley and the lovely C and we headed to South Bend for this week's USAG meet.  We are very excited because it's the last USAG meet until State because it's high school season!
