November 28, 2018

Just me and the cat (aka Blue) snuggling and watching Food Network.

This is Riley trying to figure out her routines for gymnastics.  It's a combination of current skills, things she thinks she can get in the next month and how to put them all together for the most points.
I'm sure girls with real coaches don't have to worry about that.

November 27, 2018

It's a cold wintry day outside.  But I did have this pretty view as I was walking through the hospital.  That's the area where families staying in the Ronald McDonald house can go to have some privacy or eat something or even just get some fresh air.

I had some yummy bean soup for lunch!  Perfect for a cold snowy day.

A pretty view out the window of the snow.

It's prematurity awareness month.  This morning I caught a glimpse of this diaper on my shelf so I showed my social media followers how Riley's diaper at birth was the same size as a fake license aka a gift card.

When it's cold and snowy and you are changing out of gymnastics clothes to eat dinner, why not wear your Gryffindor onesie?

November 25, 2018

Riley's faith formation teacher asked her to train him to be an altar server for those times when students aren't available.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing at home after having breakfast with Uncle Jason.  It's been a pretty good week.  If Riley had a bucket list, I think it would be cleanly checked off and even her laundry is caught up and put away.  In the past week, we went out to dinner way too many times.  She had Chick-Fil-A for breakfast and spent hours at the gym.  We went ice skating, rock climbing and karting.  We went to the Children's Museum (she's too old), spent time with friends and family and went Christmas and beer shopping.  All in all, an amazing week.

To top it all off, the weather has been beautiful.  Rick was making beer and came inside to get me.  True to Indiana weather, literally 32 minutes later, the weather changed and it started raining.

November 24, 2018

I mentioned last week that Riley's high school football team was going to State so...we did too.  It was a late game but Riley and her friend had a great time at the game.  Apparently, she discovered that she didn't hate watching the game.

November 23, 2018

For the first time in a very long time, I went Black Friday shopping.  But I wasn't going for Christmas presents, I was an extra person picking up beer with Rick at 6AM.  HAHA.  We got most of what he wanted and got to see friends...so it was all good.

Riley and her #schoolsquad decided to go out ice skating tonight.  Rick was meeting friends for drinks and needed a ride after so we had to do some complicated timing.  The girls ended up going for pizza next door to where Rick was so I could go back and forth.  The pizza was amazing.  We took the girls to the fairgrounds to skate and Riley was surprisingly adept at it until she fell down.  But they had fun and Rick had fun so it was all good.

November 22, 2018

We got an early start this morning.  I was at mom and dad's by 8 and Riley went with Uncle Jason to take meals to people who have to work today, like police and fire department.  The food was amazing, the stories were great and the family time was perfect.

November 21, 2018

I took the day off from work and Riley was off school.  She spent 6 hours at the gym, two of which were used to figure out some of her hig school routines.  I wasn't smart enough to do that last year.  We also went to the Children's Museum AND we went to Sarah Fisher's Karting Course.  So much fun!!!

November 20, 2018

Joe, Michele and Will went to the symphony so Audrey went to gymnastics while Riley was coaching.  She was adorable and had so much fun.  Oh, and I drew a turkey.

November 19, 2018

I have the feeling that this is going to be a whirlwind week.  With Joe's family in town, Riley out of school and Thanksgiving break, we are chock full of plans.

Today, Rick picked me up from work and we met the family at the Market downtown.  Then I took Audrey to my house and everyone else went to the Pacer game.  We played with the cat and watched a movie.  Then when Riley got home from practice, the three of us went back downtown and traded Audrey for Rick.

November 18, 2018 - Rock Climbin'

We had mass at 8 and class at 9:15.  We were able to be at my parents' by 11:15 for brunch with the whole family then off to rock climbing by 1.  Riley still doesn't like it but her friends go so she wants to go.  Ugh.  We left there, grabbed a sandwich and were home for about an hour before meeting Joe at his Air B n B which was amazingly awesome.  It was in an old department store in downtown Indy.  Finally, we met up with everyone for dinner at Buca di Beppo.   So funny aside, we were rock climbing and one of Riley's youth group friends brought his older sister who goes to Purdue, did DM and was actually on the committee that sponsored Riley.  Small world, eh?
