Riley got Wonder Woman bandaids after flu and Meningococcal immunizations. And seriously the best well check ever! We talked EVERYTHING with the NP and it lasted over an hour.

Happy almost Halloween

Tuesday is traditionally our taco day at home. And although we have tacos every Tuesday, we swap out what kind of tacos we make. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I said that we should have a taco week. I was not serious but Rick certainly was when he agreed to it. So today was your traditional ground beef taco.

Riley and her bestie took the day off school and went to UIndy for a tour and a health services presentation. I was most impressed when Riley said she volunteered to be worked on...she's usually a bit more reserved. Oh, and they offered her $65,000 in scholarships.

So...this was an interesting afternoon. Riley's gym hosted a Thriller party to raise money for/against Domestic Violence. Paul Mitchell's team was there to do makeup. The dance was done simultaneously around the world in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record. We have no idea if the record was set but we had fun trying.

Craig, the new guy at work, and I were assigned to an elementary health fair today. We got there and promptly met the rabid raccoon in the middle of the parking lot. He's still alive...and twitching...and foaming. That doesn't seem safe at all.

That's a lot of sugar. It looks funny with the drink sign but it actually said, "Rethink your drink"

We weren't home until later but Rick smoked hot wings. They smelled (and tasted) so good.

The last of the peppers out of our garden. Rick made some salsa with them but it was SO spicy.

We happened to run into Aunt Natalie at Meijer and Riley tried on an Anna jacket for her cousin. It's a kids 10-12 so it was hilarious.

Mom and dad picked Riley up today from Bloomington and took her to practice. I picked her up from practice but not until I picked up supplies to make card kits for the kids at the hospital.

We drove down to Bloomington after school/work for Riley to speak to her committee. It just felt "different" than the other years that we've done the same. One young man was in tears as he shared that he only has a few weeks left before he's done with DM. His brother was the head of this committee years ago so we've known him forever. There was a lot of "begging" Riley to go to IU but honestly, she's just not ready to make a decision yet. The one thing different than every other year? I left her there with her friends.
