June 17, 2019 - Happy 24th anniversary

Twenty-four years ago, I married the man of my dreams.  We have such different personalities which sometimes leads to knockdown dragout arguments.  Usually, however, we live in harmony.  We've gone on amazing vacations, built a home, made a child who is almost an adult, gone through surgeries and diagnoses.  It's been mostly up with some painful downs.

We celebrated our anniversary with a lovely homemade dinner.

Those are spinach stuffed mushrooms.

This is stuffing stuffed mushrooms.  We leave on vacay in a few days so I was trying to get rid of things out of the fridge.

Parmesan green beans.  The beans were out of our garden.  So I made a handful of parmesan green beans, I made a handful that were steamed with tiny peas and broccoli (also out of the garden).

Salad

Chicken marsala.  The sauce was amazing!!  I thought Rick was going to drink it.  Riley wouldn't even taste it.  She just ate hers with pasta.

Those are "silver" dollars although they look more like gold or brass.  They came into the register today so I put them into the deposit so I wouldn't have to deal with them.
I thought they were cool, though.

Took a nice long walk after work today along the canal.

Hello Snapchat filter.

Riley came to work to have lunch with me and ended up getting paid to stay and get some work done.  She ended up running into not only one of her module mates but her IUDM-BFF.

Someone looked pretty for church today.

After church, we headed to Menards to pick up some lumber.
Riley had to do the limbo to get in the car.

June 8, 2019

I have done A LOT of insane things in my life but today was one of the MORE insane things.  We were in Kentucky for GABBF but we had to be at work at 8AM.  SO Riley and I got up at 3:30, packed up the car and headed North.  She slept for the next 3 hours and I drove home, in the dark, in rural back roads, in the rain and prayed I stayed on the road.
We got back to town at 7 so had plenty of time.  We ended up stopping by my parents' to see the kitties.  We stayed there about 20 minutes then headed downtown to work so Riley could be the mascot again at a critical care walk.
After four hours at the job (which honestly today did not feel like a job), we headed north to Lafayette for a grad party.  We were early  because we needed to pick up gifts so we stopped at Nothing Bundt Cake.  Yes, we shared a bundt cake before going to a party.
From there, we headed back home to the next graduation party.  Once again, we were a little ahead of ourselves so we stopped at Wal*Mart so I could potty.  When I got back out to the car, I asked Riley to drive so I could catnap a bit.  Then it was off to the party, then off to dinner, then home.  We contemplated hitting a movie but I would have slept through it.  We were in bed by 8.

Well, I'm not really looking forward to driving through that. Riley was out and about with friends so she drove to grandma and grandpa's (which was much closer) and stayed there until the storm passed.  That way her friends got to meet the kittens.

Blue was sitting on the window sill and somehow fell into the basket.

I got to Riley's sports banquet last night (as requested) fifteen minutes early and asked if I needed to sign any sports awards for the gymnastics team.  The AD told me that they had decided she would not be eligible for team awards but would be receiving a certificate.  I understand, but don't understand.  I went back to our seats and she asked if we could leave.  I said no.  She got an award for Academic All State in gymnastics.  I think that's pretty freaking cool.  She pointed out lots of kids were there not getting awards but she felt it was disrespectful towards the sport to not be acknowledged.

I'm conferencing, getting my CEUs to get recertified in child passenger safety.  I know you are jealous.  This car seat is on the market.

I had to leave some money at church so I hid it in one of these eggs.  HAHA

Good luck with that.

I literally spent an hour rolling pennies at the bank because they won't take unrolled change anymore.

So close to fully open eyes.

Graduation party #2.

This picture is hilarious because Alli somehow showed up in this picture twice.  We eventually realized her senior banner was behind the girls.

Graduation party #1 - Family friend Sean's daughter Alli (see above - different Alli)
Sean gave Riley a balloon and told her to save it forever.
