One of Riley's NNPs came in to the store today and showed me this dress for a bereaved group.  So pretty.  So sad.

She just did a roundoff back tuck.  I miss those.  They were always so pretty.  We asked her to do it on the floor and maybe in competition for sectionals on Friday.  She said no.  I was sad.  But then I realized that doing it in competition was not that big of a deal.  She was afraid of doing them and stopped, then willingly did it again.  Now when she decides to stop, it'll be on her terms and she'll realize that it's the last time she'll ever do one.

Someone just won the hula hoop contest

Why yes, she is completely upside down.  Roundoff backhandspring back layout

Riley has decided that she will get a series in her high school beam routine if it kills her.  We all suggested that she do a cartwheel turn, cartwheel block.  She said no.  And kept saying no.  She can do both things with no issues.  Turns out, she only likes to do them in one direction.  So she's been trying forward rolls on the beam.  She even tried one without arms.  She's a little sore from all that trying.

These were the cupcakes that were made for senior night.  So pretty and quite tasty.

Senior Night!  I think she's been looking forward to senior night since she started doing high school gymnastics and attended her first senior night.  She was hoping for a big group at the gym, but unfortunately, my parents, her Aunt Karri and my cousin Josh and family were all that were able to attend.  No wait, a friend from DM was there to see multiple people.

There were tears, whether frustrated, sad or excited, lots of photos, hugs and laughter.  She hit the flip although it wasn't counted the way she hoped.  She placed in everything but floor even with the flip.

All that's left for high school is sectionals.

Riley and friend went off and searched for prom dresses today.  They did not find one.

Karen came to see them and wish them good luck tomorrow.

We went to Riley's friend's house today to make senior photo boards for Senior night.  While they were working, Claire's mom and I were working on crafts of our own.  We found a bird at Joanne Fabrics.

Once we left Claire's, we headed up north to visit with a cousin who was in town for a hockey game.

Then we stopped to get a Riley deal at Hot Box pizza.

Riley has been working on a front full twist which is basically a front layout with a twist and she landed it today which means it is going into Senior night floor.

This is her hair after doing the twist.

Ball State DM.  Her buddy is a friend from gymnastics.

Riley announced several days ago that she had a jazz concert tonight and that it was over an hour away...at 9:15 at night.  Am I the only one who finds that ridiculous?

And since Rick is out of town, I drove the hour and a half to the concert.  I got there about 45 minutes early, did some crocheting, watched her perform for ten minutes, walked back out to the freezing cold and drove back.  The band did sound great though!

That's her in the center with the glowing hair.

Ooh pretty!!  But I'm done with it.

That, my friends, is ice on my car.  No gymnastics for this team today.

February 11, 2020

You may be wondering why someone else is in Riley's Hawk leo.  They are friends and she wants to try competing (for a different school) but had no competition leotard.  She's going to compete tomorrow.  (Spoiler alert, it didn't happen)

These are the three local seniors.  Look at the ice packs. LOL
