May 22, 2020

Rick has been playing the piano a lot, more than he's been playing the trumpet.  He announced last week that he would be giving a performance tonight.  Riley would be the opening act.  They decided to dress up to make it more official.  I was also going to dress up but nope, pajama bottoms and a tshirt.

I believe she's inviting people to her graduation "party".

May 20, 2020

After work today, we met up with Riley's bff and tried some social distancing to get some senior pictures of the girls.  Claire already has her cap and gown so we got some lovely pictures of her in it.

May 19, 2020

A little bit of normalcy with a stop at Starbucks and a fun little message from her barista.

Rick has a real nasty case of poison ivy.  I finally convinced him that a call to the doctor was necessary.  Hello prednisone.

Riley had a dance party.

And a visit with her grandparents.

These two got their videos recorded.

Spotted this old picture of Riley doing a commercial for car seat safety.

Someone was having some issues with her hair because it was so humid out.

Hilarious humidity curl

My niece is turning 5 in a few days so we (in my family) are all recording ourselves reading her books.  I know that some day these videos will be invaluable.

May 17, 2020

We have decided to hold a "drive by" graduation party for Riley.  So we've been working on the front of the house.  Riley cleaned up one of the flower beds yesterday and put some mulch down.

Grill out dinner.  German potato salad, baked beans, broccoli, ribs and mac n cheese.

Cucumber and tomato salad

We spent the morning delivering treats to friends from school.

May 15, 2020

I have no idea what they are watching but they sure were laughing a lot.

My dad got a new phone and Riley was showing him how to do this?  I don't even know what it is called.

May 14, 2020

Riley got flowers today from a lovely woman at church.  So sweet!!

May 13, 2020

The inside of Rick's Costco cake.  It was so good, even Rick liked it.

I can't even with this picture.  Our hospital foundation wants to celebrate Riley's graduation so we took a picture.  You can't read the number on the tassel because it says 2017.  We had to borrow it from a friend to take the picture.  Riley's graduation gear will not arrive until June.

These two goofballs are my heart.
We stopped by mom and dad's to drop off some of Rick's birthday cake.
We were lucky enough to see one of my aunts who was bringing dinner to all of her brothers and sisters.

They are blurry and kind of hard to identify but those are smoked chicken legs that Rick had in the smoker after work for a couple of hours.  He brined them then seasoned them up with brown sugar and salt.

May 12, 2020

Rick's tomato plants are huge and ready to go in the ground.
He spent the day (his birthday) getting the second garden tilled and ready to go.

The Blue Angels flew over Indy.

Rick got me a red clematis for Mother's Day.
We picked out a white/purple one for him.

Birthday nachos with homemade salsa.

Riley bought the candles for Rick's cake.
They were almost burnt down by the time we got them all lit.

One of my Mother's Day gifts

Yes, Sami does say that.  He also "dice" that.  That's Spanish.

Riley made beef stew today for lunch...from scratch.  It was delicious.

Happy Mother's Day

Brother Joe and I ordered my mom a fancy picture frame that you can email pictures.  I set it up and when I turned it on, this popped up.  So cute!!

Okay, I went to the post office to grab stamps.  One of our local places had a machine that you can use to get stamps.  I went up, ordered 100 and waited to get 5 books.  Instead, I got 100 individually printed stamps.  LOL.  It took about 20 minutes.

Brother Jason :)

Dinner.  A sort of wedge salad with a chewy homemade roll compliments of Riley.  Rick made a filet that was amazing.

Riley made a fruit board for breakfast.

May 9, 2020

Seniors all over the country are being "adopted" by their communities.  Riley was lucky enough to  be adopted by a gymnastics mom.  We don't know her but she said her daughter followed Riley during the school year.

This scarf doubles as a sweater so that's pretty cool.

And lots of candy!

Brother Jason came by and asked Riley to put her prom dress on so he could see it.  He brought her flowers and more candy.

Do most people stand with one foot up like that on a truck?  She's actually holding herself off the ground, the big weirdo.

We stopped by my Grandma's grave to drop off flowers.
