June 14, 2020

Well, the graduation drive by party is now a thing of the past.  There was a lot of cake.  A LOT OF CAKE.  When I talked to the cake maker who is a friend from church, she wanted to know how to decorate the cake.  I explained that we would cut the cake up ahead of time and package it so that we didn't have to worry about people touching other peoples' food.  I told her not to bother decorating it.  She felt really bad about that and decided she was making a separate cake just for Riley.  It was an IU cake that had 6 layers and was SO good.

We made the party 5 hours to try to stretch it out so that not as many people would be there.  It ended up being about 8 between when the first people came by and the last people left.  In fact, there was no point between when the first people came by and the last people left that there was not one visitor at our house.  In fact, I never even did my hair.

But it was so great to see people.  Riley loved that we took a picture of her with everyone because that meant she got to say hi to every single person who came.  Some people saw people at our party that they know from other aspects of life.  Two people discovered that they are cousins!!  Some people never got out of the car (which was fine) and some people stopped to chat for twenty minutes.  It was all good.
