Months ago, I got a text from the mother of Riley's bff. Her son, who is a high school junior, would be playing baseball at the athletic complex at Riley's old high school. Last year, I went to one of his tennis matches there. So we put it on our calendar and made sure everyone was good to go. Riley took the day off work and we gave Rick a heads up. Then the two of them almost got hired for a band gig but yay, that got rescheduled...why? Maybe because it was supposed to be freaking cold and raining. When we got to the game, there was a security guy bellowing that people needed to get back in their cars because there was a delay. I was wearing a long sleeved shirt, jeans and a windbreaker. My child only did sports and band stuff that was inside. I was NOT wearing warm enough clothes. We eventually were released into the game but were unable to pay with cash and instead were supposed to pay with cards online...stupid. Anyway, he had a great game and we froze our ever loving nuggets off.
