July 4, 2020 - Happy Fourth

This is the first year that we've all been together for the Fourth in a really long time.  Usually Rick or Rick and Riley are still in San Diego while I'm back home working.

It was time to trim my basil and put it in a jar to grow some roots!

Riley was pet-sitting today so this was a photo on our way to check on the dogs and cat.  We were very lucky that they didn't seem to mind the fireworks.

This is our first real bounty from the garden.
Patty pan squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans and peas.

We took Riley's graduation party outfit back because the zipper broke before she ever even got to wear it.

New York strips for dinner, hwoever, we had to stand in a social distanced line of about 40 people to get the steaks.

My basil....before I clipped it.

Fresh corn on the cob that has been taken OFF the cob.

Those are loaded mashed potatoes that Riley made for dinner.

And yes, yet another carb.  Rick made FANCY mac n cheese.

And Riley's other contribution...three different kinds of cobbler.  We each had a bite of the three different kinds.  Apple, peach and blueberry....peach is my favorite but the topping went best with the apples.
